USING TWO COLOURS FOR QUILT BINDING

Another pretty way of using 2 different colours in a binding is to make candy stripes.
I have used 2.1/2" strips, but you could make the strips smaller if you wanted a thinner candy stripe.

Take 2.1/2" strips of the fabrics you wish to use.  I have only used 2 but you could use more different fabrics if you wished.

Sew the strips together along the length in pairs and then sew the pairs together to give a width of 8 strips.  I don't advise going wider than this as it becomes more difficult to manage when cutting.

Beginning in a corner, place your ruler so that it is the same distance from the corner on each edge.  Cut strips along this diagonal, measuring them at 2.1/2" from top to bottom.  Don't forget that this is not the same as 2.1/2" along the edge because the edge is at a slant on the strips.
Join the strips together to make whatever length of binding you need for your quilt (length plus width times 2, and add a good 6" for corners and ends).

Turn under a 1/4" seam on the left hand end of the binding and tuck the right hand end inside the fold.  Continue sewing to close the binding completely.  Again full instructions for this are in the Baby Quilt pattern.
Flip the binding over to the back of the quilt and slipstitch in place.
